MAA AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

Thanks to the generosity of medical alumni who have made donations and bequests to the Medical Alumni Association, we are able to recognize academic achievements with a number of awards for students, faculty, and staff. We announced this year’s MAA Awards of Excellence during the Temerty Faculty of Medicine Pre-Convocation Ceremony on June 1, 2022.

FACULTY AND STAFF AWARDS

One of the unique features of Temerty Faculty of Medicine is its four academies. Each student is appointed to an academy, and each academy is composed of clusters of affiliated hospitals and health care sites.This year for the first time, students in each of the four academies selected the professors they feel are the most worthy of the Class of 8T9 Medical Alumni Award and Dr. E. Mary Hollington Foundations Teaching Awards.

Dean A.L. Chute Silver Shovel Award
In recognition of excellence in lecturing during the clinical years of the MD program, the award goes to the person selected by the 4th year class to give the last lecture on the last day of class.
